  • Noble Discoverer - Barry Parker

This anecdote is about the tanker Noble Discoverer and is written by Barry Parker.

This vessel had been slated to drill for Shell in the Beaufort Sea, north of Alaska. But permitting delays have prevented Shell from moving forward, so the rig has been deployed to New Zealand where it is drilling. Actually owned by Noble (was purchased along with Frontier Drilling last year, on charter to Shell until Q4 2011 with further options. It's a drillship suitable for Arctic work.
