I found three poems in an old book written by someone on the MV Nayadis on the 5/4/1951. The first poem on called 'On the J.B.S' It goes ... 'he was one of the better class, so it was thought, his accent terrific.. but he was just ' Benji' to us. This poem has five stanza's. It is signed G.D.D MV Nayadis. The second poem is 'To Shorty' writing about a barman and cook. Their motto was 'Give and Take'. Two women, Edith and Maureen are mentioned. The third poem is about 'Charlie', who was 'Cock of the Walk'. If anyone knows who these folk are, or who wants the poems, please email me.
