Hi everyone. I joined Shell in March 1972, and left in Sept 1975, from Galley-Boy to 2/nd Cook/ Baker.I flew out to join the ss " Hadra " in New York in July 1973, on the way down to Curacao we broke down, and if I remember correctly we drifted for quite a while. During this period of inactivity we caught two sharks ( one got away ), the point Im trying to make is, there were quite a few photos taken of said "Nobby Clarke", and I was wondering is there anyone out there who has or knows of anyone who has any photos of said "Shark ". I was only 17 at the time, and it was one hell of an experience to see one of them up close up. I only did 2 1/2 months on her, we eventually came back to the U.K. and she went into dry-dock in Cardiff in September. Would really appreciate anyone getting in touch with me, unfortunately I dont remember anyones name who I sailed with on the ss"Hadra". All replies will be answered. I finished at sea in 2002 my last company was Trinity House where I stayed for 13 years. One last thing, these are the ships I sailed on with Shell, from 1st to last :-Hemitrochus, Partula, Hadra, Marinula, Melo, Drupa, and the Naticina. P.S. This is an excellent site, well done. Yours Hopefully Lyndon Davies. Swansea.
