1292-407

Intrigued by comments of Dave Edwards, (26.05.06), regarding road bridge, Curacao. In the late 50s I remember a story about a ship (American Flag), waiting to enter Curacao. Because of bad weather, the Master decided to enter the harbour, unaware of the bridge being in the closed position, thus demolishing it. This must have been prior to 1958. I would like to know if this story is true, and if so, the date and name of the ship involved in the incident. Regards. John Doran.
