I sailed for Shell from 1961 till 1972 on the following ships: Korovina, Vasum, Kryptos, Acteon, Kalydon, Acmaea, Diadema, again the Acmaea, Neverita and the Krebsia. My first ship was the Korovina. I came on board in Amsterdam, it was a long but nice voyage to Singapore, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and North- and South America. The following trips were the same, long voyages and all around the world (whom of you doesn?t still remember the old lady Tante Dien. Called the mother of the sailors, the owner of the bar Het Lichtschip, 25 Mayo, Buenos Aires-Argentina?) Now I work as a turbine mechanic at electricity plants, which means that I still travel a lot, but I only have to work for another 2 years and then I?ll retire. I lost contact with a lot of my fellow mates and I would like to know how they are and went on with their lives, especially the ones I sailed with on the Acmaea in Vietnam. Meant are the sailors Kees de Boer, Joop Ballengooyen and fireman Leo Rapmund. Also other mates as fireman Ben van Dorp and sailor Bas Hoogervorst.
