The "NIC" was my big brother's first ship - he joined Nicania at Liverpool in 1943, aged 18, having trained at Preston Radio School. He was 3rd RO on the ship. After he sailed, we didn't hear from him until 12 months after, by "aerogram". That voyage took him to Curacao then (I think) to the Gulf. It was two years after he first sailed that he returned home to Blackpool, with the war over. Ken is coming up to his 80th soon - he doesn't have e-mail but I can forward messages to him at his home. Best wishes to all ex-seafarers! Len Gibson.
