In a contribution to your Macoma (3) website, one of the ship's former crew-members wrote that a man by the name of Pieter Roest was his father. I am trying to locate descendants of a man by that name. After graduating from Meiden University in the Netherlands, he worked for a short time both in Japan and in Australia before going to the US, where he died in Wheaton Illinois in 1968.
But I am unable to identify who wrote the contribution.
Can you help me contact him, or get him to email me?

Pieter Roest was my father. He died 3years ago and I did prommissed him to find old friends if possible.
So if anyone can help me out, please let me know...
He was a 'stoker olieman' on the Macoma from the Shell and in that time it was the biggest oil tanker on the earth.
This was his last trip before he found work on shore...
1970/1971...
Please help me out.

With kind regards,

Perry Roest
