II WAS ON THE 4 TO 8 MORNING WATCH WITH THE CHIEF OFFICER,WE WHERE CROSSING THE
AUSTRALIAN BIGHT IN VERY HEAVY WEATHER GOING TO GEELONG ,THE WAVES WERE VERY HIGH FORCE 8-9 AND THE
SKY WAS GREY. THE SHIP WAS HEAD INTO THE WIND AND SEA. AT ABOUT 0500HRS THE SHIP BURIED
HER HEAD INTO THE SEA JUST AS A LARGE WAVE COVERED THE WHOLE FORE DECK WE COULD
NO LONGER SEE ANY OF THE DECK AND THE SHUDDERING WAS VERY SEVERE AS SHE TRIED TO GET HER HEAD BACK UP AGAIN THIS WENT ON WHICH SEEMED TO GO ON FOR EVER BUT THANK GOD SHE LIFTED HER HEAD AGAIN .ABOUT HALF HOUR LATER THE CHIEF OFFICER CAME OUT ONTO THE BRIDGE WING TO TELL ME HE THOUGH WE WERE AGONER
